Ingredients

  • croissants
  • Gruyère cheese
  • Monterey Jack cheese
  • deli Black Forest ham
  • eggs
  • salt
  • pepper
  • garlic powder
  • paprika
  • whole milk
  • heavy cream
  • parsley
  • chives

Method

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 13x9 inch baking dish.

  2. 2

Slice the croissants into bite-sized pieces.

  3. 3

Chop the deli ham into small pieces.

  4. 4

In a large mixing bowl, crack the eggs. Add the milk, heavy cream, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Whisk until everything is well combined.

  5. 5

Place the sliced croissants in an even layer at the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

  6. 6

Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissants.

  7. 7

Sprinkle the chopped ham over the egg-soaked croissants.

  8. 8

Top the casserole with an even layer of shredded Gruyère and Monterey Jack cheese, covering the entire surface.

  9. 9

Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake for 30 minutes.

  10. 10

After 30 minutes, remove the aluminum foil and continue to bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the top is golden brown. For extra browning, you can broil on low for 2-4 minutes at the end.

  11. 11

Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool slightly.

  12. 12

Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and chives before serving.
