Ingredients

  • whole milk
  • active dry yeast
  • granulated sugar
  • eggs
  • plain yogurt
  • vanilla extract
  • salted butter
  • bread flour
  • salt
  • Oreo cookies
  • salted butter
  • granulated sugar
  • cream cheese
  • salted butter
  • vanilla extract
  • powdered sugar
  • heavy cream

Method

  1. 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the lukewarm milk, active dry yeast, and a spoonful of sugar. Stir gently and let it sit for about 10 minutes until the yeast becomes foamy.

  2. 2

To the yeast mixture, add the eggs, the remaining sugar for the dough, yogurt, vanilla, and melted butter. Then, add the bread flour and salt.

  3. 3

Using a stand mixer with a dough hook, mix on low speed for a few minutes until the ingredients are just combined. Stop the mixer and let the dough rest for about 10 minutes to allow the flour to absorb the liquids.

  4. 4

After resting, continue mixing on a medium speed for about 5 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.

  5. 5

Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it proof in a warm place for 45 minutes, or until doubled in size.

  6. 6

While the dough is proofing, crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. In a separate bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the softened butter and sugar. Mix until it forms a thick, spreadable paste.

  7. 7

Punch down the proofed dough and place it on a floured surface. Roll it out into a large rectangle. Evenly spread the Oreo filling over the entire surface of the dough.

  8. 8

Using a pizza cutter or a sharp knife, cut the dough into long strips, about 1.5 to 2 inches wide. Carefully roll up each strip to form the cinnamon rolls. This should yield about 8 or 9 large rolls.

  9. 9

Place the rolls into a greased baking dish (a 9-inch pie dish and a small loaf pan were used in the video). Cover with plastic wrap and let them proof for another 20 minutes.

  10. 10

After the second proof, warm the heavy cream and pour it over the rolls in the baking dish. This will help keep them moist and gooey.

  11. 11

Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 26 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

  12. 12

While the rolls are baking, prepare the frosting. In a bowl, use a hand mixer to beat the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add the vanilla and powdered sugar, and continue to beat until light and fluffy.

  13. 13

Once the rolls are out of the oven, let them cool slightly before generously spreading the cream cheese frosting over the top. Serve warm and enjoy
