Baked Beans - Done the right way! 🔥
Ingredients
- bacon
- Onion
- Green bell pepper
- Garlic
- Ground beef
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Onion powder
- Garlic powder
- Soy sauce
- Worcestershire sauce
- Canned baked beans
- Brown sugar
- Relish
- Barbecue sauce
- Mustard
Method

Add 1/2 pound of chopped bacon to a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.

Cook the bacon, stirring constantly, until it is evenly cooked and crispy.

Remove the crispy bacon from the skillet, leaving the rendered fat behind.

To the bacon fat in the skillet, add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook, stirring, until translucent.

Add 1 pound of ground beef to the skillet with the vegetables.

Season the ground beef with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.

Break up the beef and cook until it is browned. Drain any excess grease.

Stir in 1 tablespoon each of soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce.

Pour in two 28-ounce cans of original baked beans and stir to combine.

Season the bean mixture with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and 1/4 cup of brown sugar. Stir well.

Add the cooked bacon back to the skillet.

Stir in 4 tablespoons each of relish, barbecue sauce, and mustard until everything is well combined.

Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes.

Carefully remove the skillet from the oven and give the baked beans a good stir.
