Cambodian Marinated Beef (Sach Ko Ang)
This video shows how to make Cambodian marinated beef, also known as Sach Ko Ang.
Ingredients
- thin-sliced beef
- garlic
- onion
- shallot
- lemongrass
- chicken bouillon powder
- dark soy sauce
- fish sauce
- brown sugar
- honey
- olive oil
- sesame oil
Method
- 1
Begin by unpacking the thin-sliced beef and transferring it to a large bowl.
- 2
Rinse the beef under running water and place it in a colander to drain excess water.
- 3
Prepare the marinade. In a food processor, add the garlic, quartered onion, and shallot.
- 4
Add the minced lemongrass to the food processor.
- 5
Add the chicken bouillon powder.
- 6
Add the dark soy sauce.
- 7
Add the fish sauce.
- 8
Add the brown sugar.
- 9
Add the honey.
- 10
Add the olive oil.
- 11
Close the lid and blend all marinade ingredients until a smooth paste is formed.
- 12
Pour the blended marinade into a large glass bowl.
- 13
Add the drained beef to the bowl with the marinade.
- 14
Add the sesame oil to the beef and marinade.
- 15
Use a spoon or your hands to thoroughly mix the beef with the marinade, ensuring every piece is well-coated. Let the beef marinate for at least a few hours, or overnight for best results.
- 16
Preheat a grill.
- 17
Once the grill is hot, use tongs to place the marinated beef strips onto the grill grates. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
- 18
Remove the cooked beef from the grill and place it on a serving tray.
- 19
Serve the grilled beef hot, as shown with pancakes. Enjoy
