Easy Garlic Noodles
These garlicky, buttery noodles are pure comfort and take minutes to make at home!
Ingredients
- Miki wheat noodles
- garlic
- butter
- cooking oil
- oyster sauce
- fish sauce
- brown sugar
- chicken bouillon powder
- black pepper
- soy sauce
- parmesan cheese
- green onions
- pasta water
Method
- 1
Finely chop the garlic. The creator prefers a chunky texture.
- 2
Grate the Parmesan cheese.
- 3
In a small bowl, combine the oyster sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, chicken bouillon powder, black pepper, and soy sauce. Mix well and set aside.
- 4
Bring a pot of water to a boil. Blanch the wheat noodles until they are al dente. Reserve some of the pasta water before draining. Note: The creator suggests that if you can't find wheat noodles, spaghetti can be used as a substitute.
- 5
Heat a wok or large pan over medium-high heat. Add the cooking oil and butter.
- 6
Allow the butter to melt completely. The oil will prevent it from burning.
- 7
Add the chopped garlic to the wok and sauté for 2-3 minutes, until it has softened and become fragrant.
- 8
Pour the prepared sauce mixture into the wok with the sautéed garlic. Stir and let it bubble.
- 9
Add the cooked and drained noodles to the wok.
- 10
Pour in the reserved pasta water to help create the sauce and keep the noodles from being too dry.
- 11
Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the noodles.
- 12
Toss everything together until the noodles are evenly coated with the sauce and cheese. The creator recommends using chopsticks for tossing to avoid breaking the noodles.
- 13
Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
