Ingredients

  • chicken breast
  • milk
  • potatoes
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • vegetable oil
  • red onions
  • plain yogurt
  • eggs
  • tomato
  • cheese
  • fresh dill

Method

  1. 1

Begin by cutting the chicken breast into bite-sized cubes. Place the cubed chicken into a large glass bowl.

  2. 2

Pour the milk over the chicken until it's fully submerged. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes to tenderize the meat.

  3. 3

While the chicken marinates, peel and slice the potatoes into thin rounds.

  4. 4

Place the potato slices in a separate bowl, season with salt, pepper, and vegetable oil. Toss with a gloved hand to ensure all slices are evenly coated.

  5. 5

Take a medium-sized bowl and press a sheet of aluminum foil over its bottom and sides to create a foil mold. Repeat this process to make three molds in total.

  6. 6

Place the three foil molds onto a baking sheet.

  7. 7

Arrange a layer of the seasoned potato slices at the bottom of each foil mold.

  8. 8

Thinly slice the red onions and place a layer of sliced onions on top of the potatoes.

  9. 9

After marinating, remove the chicken pieces from the milk using tongs or a whisk, allowing excess milk to drip off. Arrange the chicken pieces in a layer on top of the onions in each mold.

  10. 10

In a bowl, combine the yogurt and eggs. Whisk until smooth.

  11. 11

Spoon this egg and yogurt mixture evenly over the chicken in each mold.

  12. 12

Slice the tomato into rounds and arrange them on top of the yogurt mixture.

  13. 13

Grate the cheese and sprinkle it generously over the tomatoes.

  14. 14

Place the baking sheet with the filled molds into a preheated oven and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 40-45 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender, the chicken is cooked through, and the cheese is golden and bubbly.

  15. 15

Carefully remove the baked dishes from the oven. Let them cool slightly before removing them from the foil molds and placing them on plates. Garnish with freshly chopped dill and serve warm.
