Layered Cheeseburger Kabobs
A creative and delicious way to enjoy cheeseburger flavors in a layered kabob format, cooked in an air fryer and served with a zesty dipping sauce.
Ingredients
- Ground beef
- Flour
- Onion
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Flour tortillas
- Cheddar cheese slices
- Bacon strips
- Mayonnaise
- Ketchup
- Fresno chili
- Garlic powder
Method
- 1
Stack the flour tortillas and use scissors to cut them into large rectangles by trimming off the rounded edges.
- 2
In a glass bowl, combine the ground beef, flour, diced onion, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly with your hands or a spatula.
- 3
Take one rectangular tortilla piece and spread a thin layer of the seasoned beef mixture evenly across it.
- 4
Cover the beef with a layer of cheddar cheese slices.
- 5
Place a layer of cooked bacon strips over the cheese.
- 6
Place another tortilla piece on top and repeat the layering process (beef, cheese, bacon) until you have a tall stack.
- 7
Finish with a plain tortilla on top. Press the stack down firmly.
- 8
Cut the large stack into three equal sections.
- 9
Insert several wooden skewers through each section to hold the layers together.
- 10
Using a long, sharp knife, slice each section between the skewers to create individual kabobs.
- 11
Arrange the kabobs in an air fryer basket, standing them upright on their sides.
- 12
Cook at 375°F (190°C) for approximately 20 minutes, flipping the kabobs every 5 minutes to ensure even cooking and browning.
- 13
While the kabobs are cooking, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, garlic powder, diced Fresno chili, and a pinch of black pepper in a small bowl.
- 14
Stir until all ingredients are well-mixed and the sauce is smooth.
- 15
Once cooked, remove the kabobs from the air fryer. Serve hot with the dipping sauce.
