Yucky Tofu Skewers
A vegan take on a garlicky shrimp dish, featuring crispy tofu skewers coated in a rich garlic butter sauce.
Ingredients
- extra firm tofu
- seasoning
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- black pepper
- salt
- olive oil
- vegan butter
- sriracha
- red pepper flakes
- minced garlic
- fresh parsley
- nutritional yeast
- vegan parmesan cheese
Method
- 1
Press the tofu to remove excess water.
- 2
Cut the block of tofu into 1-inch cubes.
- 3
Place the tofu cubes into a large mixing bowl.
- 4
Season the tofu with the seasoning blend, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Drizzle with olive oil.
- 5
Gently toss the tofu until all the cubes are evenly coated with the seasoning and oil.
- 6
Thread the seasoned tofu cubes onto wooden skewers.
- 7
Place the tofu skewers in an air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- 8
While the tofu is cooking, prepare the sauce. Melt the vegan butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- 9
Stir in the sriracha, red pepper flakes, minced garlic, and fresh parsley.
- 10
Add the nutritional yeast and stir until everything is well combined.
- 11
Stir in the shredded vegan parmesan cheese until it melts into the sauce.
- 12
Once the tofu is cooked, remove the skewers from the air fryer.
- 13
Generously brush the garlic butter sauce over all sides of the cooked tofu skewers.
- 14
Transfer the sauced skewers to a serving plate. Brush with any remaining sauce and serve immediately.
